The Nice Philharmonic Orchestra will host the renowned French violinist, Renaud Capuçon, on the stage of the Nice Opera on December 4th and 5th. Originally from Chambéry, this talented soloist won the title of “New Talent of the Year” at the Victoires de la Musique in 2000 at the age of 24. Now considered one of the greatest violin virtuosos, Renaud Capuçon will perform one of the masterpieces of the romantic repertoire: the Violin Concerto in D major by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. In the second part of this concert, the Nice Philharmonic will perform, under the direction of Philippe Bender, Igor Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring, in celebration of the centenary of the Ballets Russes.
