For its thirtieth anniversary, the Roc d’Azur (October 8-12) kicked off under the sun of Fréjus. On the road for five days of sports and festivities.
Nearly 1,400 middle and high school students from the entire Nice Academy and the towns of Fréjus, Roquebrune-sur-Argens, and Sainte-Maxime gathered on Wednesday to start the Générations Roc (8 and 15 km), a traditional kickoff of the Roc d’Azur.
By Sunday, more than 20,000 people will celebrate the 30th anniversary of an event that has become an essential date on the calendar over the years. More than 20,000 will indulge in great and intense emotions on the trails of the Massif des Maures, and nearly 150,000 will roam the Roc Salon.
On the ground on Thursday, some enduro stars will be at the start of the Enduroc. Aurélien Giordanengo, a member of the world’s top 20, is expected to be at the forefront. Among the women, the Briton Tracy Moseley, who won the general classification of the Enduro World Series last week in Italy, is also present.
The Tri Roc will be another highlight of the day. After 1.5 km in the Mediterranean, participants of this nature-style triathlon will go for a 24 km mountain bike loop before finishing on the nature base with a 12 km run.
