Rugby Nice Cote Azur: Preparatory Work for the 2010-2011 Season

Latest News

The general assembly of the RNCA was an opportunity during the activity report to assess the status of each entity of Nice rugby. Nice Premium provides a summary of the assembly for you.

SASP

  • manages the senior teams (the semi-professional F1 team and the B team)
  • approval of the 2008-2009 season’s report with a significant deficit covered by Paul White, the main shareholder.
  • renewal of the Board of Directors:
    President: Paul White
Directors: Mark Thomas, Dan Luger, Gaby Desgeorges, John Hall,
SA Cari, Rob Rutter, Jeff Tordo, and a representative of the Association (Master Arena).

We can also note a strong British presence in the governance of the club and the presence of two historical figures of past Nice rugby, the president of Racing Club de Nice (before its liquidation), entrepreneur Gaby Desgeorges, and the former international player Jeff Tordo who is expected to be involved in the sports sector.

The club’s General Manager Marc-Andrรฉ Domergue has been appointed. He was previously part of the medical staff.

The sports performance for the season was average, showing improvement compared to last season (qualification in Jean-Prat instead of Play-down) but falling short of the goal to advance to Pro2.

We await to know the plans for the upcoming season.
