The Saint Philippe school in Nice is showing its new dining area to the Deputy Mayor in charge of education, Lauriano Azinheirinha, the Deputy Mayor in charge of the territory, Auguste Vรฉrola, and the Municipal Councillor delegated to school catering, Philippe Rossini.

Smiles, wide eyes, surprises… the children of Saint Philippe school are happy to have lunch in their new cafeteria!

Following the schools of Port, Caucade, Nice Flore, and Cimiez d’Essling (which is ongoing), it’s the Saint Philippe establishment that has benefited from the rehabilitation of school catering sites, implemented by the city hall since 2012.

470,000 euros is the total cost that the city has invested to extend and renovate this school’s cafeteria. “We recovered a classroom to expand the dining hall!” explains Philippe Rossini. The goal is to make the dining hall more spacious and up to standards, but also to ensure that staff can work in better conditions and that children have lunch in an adequate place.

In addition to the complete renovation of the premises, the cafeteria has also received new materials and the establishment of storage and food decontamination areas. All this to ensure impeccable service quality.

“The service is done twice.” The school’s cafeteria accommodates about 500 children every lunchtime in two rooms. One for kindergarten students and another for elementary students.

Finally, the installation of an elevator in the four-story building as well as the creation of a ramp on the entrance yard of the elementary school are scheduled for the end of the first quarter of 2017.
