The activities offered to each class in the towns of Beaulieu, Cap d’Ail, รze, La Turbie, Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, and Villefranche sur Mer promise to be diverse and exciting, as evidenced by the day’s program below:
Activities at Saint Jean Cap Ferrat:
The staff from the Villefranche sur Mer Oceanological Observatory will be at the gymnasium (morning and afternoon until 3:30 PM) with two classes for a discovery of the sea through plankton (observation under microscope, through photos, and drawing reproduction) and a meeting with G. Pasqui, a marine carpenter.
The SOS Grand Bleu Association will take the children on a sea outing in the morning (9:35 AM and 10:35 AM) followed by an afternoon visit to the Shell Museum and the Cinematheque.
The team from the Monaco Oceanographic Museum will be in the morning at โLa Palomaโ beach in Saint Jean for a โfeet in the waterโ workshop: studying the plants and animals of the shore (collection and identification), then in the afternoon at the departmental sea school.
The Zoo of Saint Jean is also committed to the children and will open its doors all morning for a discovery workshop on sea and shore birds.
From 12 PM to 2 PM, Mr. Renรฉ Vestri, Mayor of Saint Jean Cap Ferrat and President of the SIVOM, will join the children for a picnic at the port.
The students will also have the chance to meet writers and illustrators who will talk to them about the sea and share their passion:
The Saint Jean Cap Ferrat Media Library will host the famous author Yves Pinguilly for the day, who will meet with the children from the classes of Beaulieu and รze and enchant them with his tales of a former sailor.
Illustrator Henri Meunier will be at the Saint Jean Cap Ferrat School at 10 AM for a fun meeting with the fifth-grade students, and then at Cap d’Ail in the afternoon at 1:30 PM much to the delight of the fifth-grade class.
Serge Ceccarelli, an illustrator from Nice, will visit the first and second graders of the Villefranche sur Mer School for an unforgettable meeting with this illustrator passionate about the sea.
The contributions and gracious interventions of the Monaco Oceanographic Museum, the Villefranche sur Mer Oceanological Observatory, the Zoo of Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, and the SOS Grand Bleu Association should be highlighted and thanked.
