Future middle schools plan: studying in adapted and high-performing institutions
The Future Middle Schools Plan is dedicated to both major operations like construction, extension, or rehabilitation of middle schools and gyms, and to significant repairs and arrangements. Moreover, the Department continues to commit to disability and making middle schools accessible.
New technologies serving education: studying in optimal conditions
Besides maintaining the computer facilities, the “digital backpack” initiative continues its expansion: reducing backpack weight, saving time, promoting interactivity, creativity, friendliness: tablets are a valuable learning tool. For this school year, 1,735 tablets are provided to students in 9 middle schools. Furthermore, the Department is developing innovative digital educational content such as the Alpes-Maritimes knowledge portal, a digital resource bank of the artistic, cultural, historical, and scientific heritage of the Alpes-Maritimes, and continues integrating middle schools into the “E-Conseil Dรฉpartemental” approach.
Republic and Citizenship at the heart of departmental educational policy
Since 2015, a “Departmental Action Plan for Respecting Republican and Citizenship Values among Young People” has been initiated. It is divided into three main components: raising awareness of the duty of memory, republican and citizenship values, and combating radicalization.
The “Citizen 06” Passport, developed with the participation of the youth councils (CDJ), was launched for this school year. It will be distributed to 9th-grade students in the department who must complete a 2-year citizenship journey.
This year, an electronic chip is placed in the correspondence books of middle school students equipped with turnstiles to serve as access control at the entrance.
Continuing support to families for a peaceful schooling
In economic terms, the School Grant 06 (4,680 beneficiaries in 2016-2017) and the Canteen Aid (1 euro per meal, 12,161 beneficiaries in 2016-2017) remain in place.
