This Tuesday, February 15, in Nice, a 31-year-old man was sentenced to a prison term for injuring a CRS officer during a protest against the health pass.

The incident took place last Saturday amidst a protest against the health measures; a CRS officer was seriously injured in the finger.
The defendant, a 31-year-old Czech man already known to the police and monitored by the CCAS, allegedly consumed beer and cannabis that day.

Two protesters attempted to topple the police officers, one of whom had his hand placed on a barrier, and his finger got caught. The result was a bloody phalanx and ten days of injury-induced leave.
The police then apprehended a first suspect, and thanks to video footage, the second suspect was identified.

He denies responsibility for the incident and also denies any resistance.

The court has ruled; the defendant is found guilty of aggravated assault, violent resistance, and cannabis use.
Prosecutor Clémence Bravais had requested a nine-month sentence, including six months suspended. However, the court handed down a straight nine-month sentence.
