This Saturday, September 23, the mobilization event “The Shoe Pyramids” will take place at Leclerc Square from 10 a.m.
In light of an 83% increase in the number of civilian victims of explosive weapons worldwide, Handicap International is calling for mobilization. This Saturday, September 23, the event titled “The Shoe Pyramids” will be organized at Leclerc Square. Mobilized citizens are invited to throw a pair of shoes. This symbolic gesture is a way to express solidarity with the victims. It is also a means to voice outrage against practices that violate the principles of International Humanitarian Law.
A National Mobilization
Alongside Nice, the cities of Paris and Lyon will participate in this event. On-site, attendees will have the opportunity to explore an exhibition highlighting the association’s fields of action and take part in fun workshops. This 29th edition aims to focus on Syria. Indeed, after twelve years of war, this country has become a symbol of the humanitarian consequences for civilian populations caused by the use of explosive weapons in urban areas. Lastly, this mobilization follows the signing of the Dublin Declaration Against Urban Bombardments. Signed last November, this declaration is the product of a vigorous and determined effort. Handicap International was notably a key player in this struggle.

1:30 p.m. – 1:35 p.m.: Popping, involving the rhythmic contraction and relaxation of muscles. Ludovic Balade, known as Popping Astiko, 35 years old, learned it at the forecourt of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MAMAC) in Nice at the age of 17. He uses this passion in service of sick children for whom he dances in hospitals.

The Martial Academy of the 9 Dragons is a martial arts school founded 50 years ago in France. It offers, for a single membership fee, the practice of various internal and external martial arts originating from Asia: Kung-fu, Qi-Gong, Tai-Chi-Chuan, Hatha Yoga, Free-Fight, Jiu-Jitsu, and Arnis Kali-eskrima. Some classes are open from the age of 3.

Currently, at “L’Arche d’Eden,” a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the big city,
J.J Nguyen Van Phuc continues the personalized transmission of the energetic science of Zhineng Qigong. He offers to lead a small instructive workshop on this wonderful practice with public participation, where some useful keys for heart keeping, health maintenance, and the manifestation of joy will be presented.
