Christian Estrosi, Deputy Mayor of Nice and President of Nice Cรดte dโAzur, signed yesterday, Tuesday, December 14, at the General Secretariat of the International Organization of the Francophone Games – PAR, the specifications for the 7th Francophone Games.
This document is the result of a collaborative and in-depth effort between the International Committee of the Francophone Games, led by Mahaman Lawan Seriba, and the working group established in preparation for the National Committee of the Francophone Games. This set of specifications reflects the two major characteristics of the Francophone Games:
They are governmental games. France has been chosen to organize this 7th edition and has delegated the organization to the City of Nice. Therefore, the working group involved in drafting the specifications included both State and City of Nice services.
The statutory rules of these Games have provided for a dual leadership between the International Committee and the Local Committee. This leadership should proceed harmoniously and complementarily to ensure the success of the Games. This is the purpose of this specifications document, serving as a genuine contractual link between the parties.
This document serves as both a schedule and a work plan, a framework to respect and a record of experiences, a guarantee and an expression of ambition.
The specifications for the 7th Francophone Games were adopted on June 24, 2010, by the Steering Council of the International Organization of the Francophonie. The signatories of the specifications are Christian Estrosi, as President of the National Committee of the Francophone Games, Renรฉ Hamaite, President of the Steering Council of the CIJF, and Mr. Clรฉment Duhaime, a Quebec diplomat and administrator of the OIF.
The Francophone Games were created in 1987 by the International Organization of the Francophonie, presided over by Abdou Diouf. The main objective is to contribute to the promotion of peace and development through meetings and exchanges among young Francophones.
