The leaders of the two Nice oval sports (rugby and American football) received their early Christmas gift…
Indeed, as part of the renovation of the Arboras Complex, two synthetic fields were put into service yesterday afternoon in the presence of the Mayor of Nice and numerous elected officials and sports leaders.
Gone are the inconveniences due to overuse or bad weather!
One of the fields will be dedicated to matches and training, and a second, smaller one has been created solely for training with an increase of 27 time slots per week.
These fields meet international standards and will offer more comfort and safety to their users while allowing significant savings in maintenance costs. By the end of the year, a third synthetic turf will be installed on another auxiliary field.
In total, the calculator will show an amount of 1.6 million euros. Not much to complain about!
All of these facilities will allow for greater use of the fields by the 630 members of Stade Niçois, the 355 members of the Dolphins de Nice, and the 900 students of the UFR STAPS.
These developments are part of the ambitious project of the future City of Sports, from Arboras to the Charles Ehrmann Sports Park, where, notably, the future training center of OGC Nice will be built.
In fact, other investments are already planned for 2016: a weight training room and the renovation of the honor field’s turf, costing 1.2 million euros.
