“At the start of the competition, I wasn’t stressed thanks to my previous participations. I swam my usual times (1 hour and 21 minutes). Then, I knew the bike course by heart, so I tried to go fast without pushing myself too hard. I fell during a pit stop but fortunately, it wasn’t serious. I felt great when I got off the bike. Finally, during the run, I set myself the goal of never walking, and I succeeded mentally. It was very hot, and the showers placed on the course were very welcome. Afterward, finally crossing the finish line is a relief.”
“Count on me for 2011!”
I managed my race well and didn’t encounter any particular problems. It went really well; I am very happy. Given my injury a month before the race, I expected this time. My daughter was worried, so she was thrilled to see me cross the finish line. As for me, I’m already ready for next year with the goal of going under 11 hours! For this, I will continue to train regularly, avoiding breaks at all costs. At my age, a few days without training is unforgiving!”
