After the restoration of the hamlet of Maurion at Ceva, the traffic between Saorge and Sainte-Claire on RD 40 is now resumed, allowing the entire Caïros valley to be accessible. The track is reserved for 4×4 vehicles for safety and viability reasons.
Precious time has been saved. The operation to assemble the emergency bridge on RD 6204 by the 14 Arches bridge in Tende, conducted by the departmental teams of road agents under the supervision of three supervisors from the National Emergency Bridges Center (CNPS), has been completed since this morning. Therefore, as of this Monday, December 14 afternoon, the bridge is open to traffic for all types of vehicles, particularly for heavy freight and reconstruction equipment as well as for all residents, on a single alternating lane.
As a reminder, the bridge secures the southern access to Tende on the left bank for the sustainable reopening of the commune. It also allows for the sustainable restoration of potable and wastewater networks that were swept away by the storm.
Meanwhile, the works on the Bourg Neuf ford in Tende, initiated on Monday, December 7, have been completed and contribute to the final reopening and improved traffic flow in the commune. Traffic is managed by alternating traffic lights on the ford crossing.
