A new labor action will disrupt the Lignes d’Azur network on Friday, August 14 and Monday, August 17, 2026. Several lines will operate according to Sunday schedules, while certain services will be suspended. The unions denounce a lack of dialogue on wages and working conditions.
On Friday, August 14, public transportation users in the Nice metropolitan area will need to adjust their travel plans. Due to a labor action, several lines of the Lignes d’Azur network will operate according to Sunday and holiday schedules throughout the day.
Lines 1, 2, 3, B, 5, 6, 7, 8+, 11, 12+, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 (from Vauban to Saint-André-de-la-Roche only), 20, 21, 30, 32, 33, 35, 38, 57, 64, 70, 81, 98 and 99 are affected. However, the first departure of line 15 from the Lycée Masséna stop will still depart at 6:30 a.m. to ensure passenger travel.
No service will be provided on lines 36, 37 and Cadam East. All other network lines will operate normally.
The Mobil’Azur call center and TAD will be closed. Lignes d’Azur commercial offices and all ParcaZur locations will remain open.
Unions denounce wages and working conditions
On Monday, August 17, new disruptions are expected on the network. Details regarding the affected lines and operating schedules will be announced starting Saturday on the Lignes d’Azur website. Other lines will operate normally, depending on how the labor action develops.
Behind this mobilization are several demands put forward by the SUD union of Lignes d’Azur. Stéphane Champoussin, union representative, explains: « Always for the same reasons, regarding employee demands, we are not being heard, so certain behaviors continue. » Specifically, the unions are demanding a salary increase.
The union representative also raises concerns about the social climate within the company and working conditions during the summer: « given the heat and given the air conditioning in buses and trams, it’s becoming increasingly difficult. »
According to the union, approximately 200 staff members will participate in the Friday action, including nearly 178 drivers. A mobilization that is increasing compared to previous strike days. « Ultimately, I can see that in the agreement, they did not listen to employees because if we add up these three strikes, that’s more than 350 drivers who agree with us, that’s more than half », affirms Stéphane Champoussin.
No new meetings with management or the city council are scheduled at this time. Union representatives are now waiting to see the level of participation on August 14 and 17 before any potential further actions upon return in September.
