This afternoon from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, the 6th-grade students from Jules Romain Middle School will visit Ipag Nice for a discovery workshop that will allow them to learn how to set up their own web radio. More importantly, they will learn the basics to design their very first radio show, which will be broadcast during the School’s Press and Media Week.

radio_ipag_mmm-2.jpg This visit will revolve around two main points: The first will consist of discovering the school and its radio studio from which the Master’s Media Manager students record their shows and run Radio Ipag. The second will focus on the creation of a one-hour radio show that will be broadcast on numerous local web platforms during the traditional school press and media week, which is taking place this year from March 25 to March 30, 2013.

During this afternoon, students will discover how Radio Ipag was designed during the first semester by all the MMM students: assembling the radio, writing the shows, recording, editing, and broadcasting the final showโ€ฆ They will then have the opportunity to interact with the Master’s students who will answer all their questions. The practical case of the day will follow, involving the production of the very first radio show recorded by the middle schoolers. Formation of work groups, choice of topics and guests, writing of the show, technical preparation: No stone will be left unturned to make this first attempt a true success. โ€œThe middle schoolers will work over the next few weeks on assembling the show in collaboration with the Master Media Manager students and their teachers to be fully prepared for D-Day, the recording under live conditions.โ€ Explains Jean-Paul Delbrayelle, the teacher behind this project and one of the most active in the Azure academy concerning school press, media, and digital content.

Once these two sequences are completed, the Jules Romain students will have a few weeks to fine-tune the interviews, sections, and other radio journalism components that will form the content of their show, and above all, they will train well to be as comfortable as possible when the big day arrives in front of their microphone!
