For their return home after two victorious away games, our girls crushed Angers with a score of 90 to 56. Our opponents for the night came to Nice with the best defense in the pool, but it shattered in the face of the impressive offensive aggression of our players.
Leading from start to finish, Olga Tarasenko’s girls never gave a moment’s respite to the brave but overwhelmed Angevines, who were somewhat left to fend for themselves by their coach, who was more concerned with the refereeing than with giving them advice.
Well led by Barbara Cousin (11 points and 4 assists) at the helm, ably supported by Morgane Plestan (11 points and 4 assists), with Elodie Decker (16 points) and Fabienne Constant (14 points) frequently finishing, and Stéphanie Dubois working tirelessly, our girls executed the game masterfully.
We had it all: an ironclad defense featuring Jeanne Senghor-Sy, who achieved 2 blocks, rapid counterattacks following deadly interceptions for our opponents, outside shooting accuracy, and numerous well-inspired and sometimes brilliant decisive passes.
This superb victory now allows us to stand alone in fifth place, just one point shy of fourth!
Despite the weak opposition, this match has well prepared us for the upcoming trip to La Roche-sur-Yon to face Roche Vendée.
