Tax-deductible donations: a dignified and vital aid for the nonprofit sector

Since 1989 and the inclusion of the Coluche amendment in the finance bill, individuals subject to income tax can receive tax relief on a portion of their donations.

Indeed, the famous comedian was behind this initiative, leveraging his generosity and fame.

For 25 years, the tax relief on donations has allowed individuals subject to income tax to benefit from a tax deduction.

Since 2005 and the Borloo amendment, 75% of the donation is tax-deductible up to a limit of 529 euros. Beyond that, the donation is deductible at a rate of 66%, up to 20% of the taxable net income.

If you exceed this limit, the surplus will entitle you to a tax credit over the next five years.

Practically speaking, you will benefit from these tax advantages on your 2015 taxes if you send your donation to an accredited association by December 31st.
