Five days after the start of the 19th EDHEC Raid, the participants arrived at the Promenade des Anglais this Sunday afternoon. Although they didn’t all have the same success, the participants from the 18 teams involved shared a true moment of conviviality during the Sunday award ceremony.
The finish of this 19th EDHEC Raid brought a crowd to the Promenade des Anglais. Under a blazing sun, the people of Nice came to congratulate these heroes who battled the elements for five days over 250 km.
Everyone was honored at this beautiful sports event. Even though 18 teams were officially engaged, at the finish, it felt like a large group, a family of the Raid in a sense. Whether professionals or mere amateurs, they were all together to celebrate the end of the competition. These moments show us that sports are synonymous with sharing and solidarity.
« A very beautiful initiative »
For this new edition of the EDHEC Raid, the organizers selected a prestigious patron in the person of Nastasia Noens. The French Alpine skiing champion in slalom and super combined did not hesitate for a second before agreeing to be part of the adventure. « It’s a very beautiful initiative. When I was offered to be the patron, I was very honored, admits this true Niçoise. I would have liked to participate in some events, but I injured myself just before the start of the Raid. I will return in the coming years to participate in canoeing or canyoning events. These are sports that really attract me ».
The organizers do not intend to stop there. Next year, for the 20th anniversary of the EDHEC Raid, the organizing team wants the event to be even more successful. The date is set.
