It is estimated that 500,000 delegates attending 400 events bring the region to the forefront as the top tourist destination in France after Paris, with over 7 billion euros in revenue.
Moreover, they sustain jobs since 90% of these stays occur outside the summer season. Business tourism also promotes the territory.
The importance of this sector is easily explained by Bernard Kleynhoff, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry: “This result explains the difference between seasonal activity and year-round activity.” He concluded: “It is an irreplaceable pillar of our local economy.”
