Who will succeed Jérôme Ardissone, Charlotte Bonnet, and Cécile Hernandez-Cervellon? It’s up to you to vote for the best athletes from the Riviera region of the year 2015.
The 2016 Victoires du Sport is coming soon. The ceremony that honors the athletes of the Riviera is scheduled to take place on Monday, February 22, at the Palais Acropolis. While some mysteries remain, such as the name of the sponsor or the program for this new edition, the identity of the Riviera athletes selected in each category has been revealed.
Among them, there are some regulars such as Charlotte Bonnet and Nastasia Noens for the women, Zelim Khadjiev and Loïc Pietri for the men, and Robert Sellem and Patrice Barattero in the Handisport category.
Also noteworthy is the presence of the new darling of Nice football, Vincent Koziello. At 20 years old and 1.68 meters tall, the midfielder has managed to become indispensable within the Nice team and has made his appearance in the France Under-21 team. The fans’ favorite, considered one of the Ligue 1 revelations this year, presents himself as the favorite among the men.
Winner of the previous edition and third in 2014, Jérôme Ardissone is absent from the list this time. The Ardissone Nice Full Contact will still be represented since Jonathan Pastorino is among the potential winners, having become the WKN -60 kg world champion last June.
On the women’s side, swimmer Charlotte Bonnet will have the chance to win the trophy for the second consecutive year. Provided she gathers more votes than the other Riviera athletes, including notably Alizé Cornet.
As for the Handisport category, note the presence of Patrice Barratero (Para Snowboard), already crowned in 2014. Para Snowboard will be well-represented in this category, as in addition to the 2014 winner, Maxime Montaggioni and Olivier Bourdin, all members of the ANICES association, are also included.
