The 2nd edition of the School Sports Day taking place all over France on Wednesday, September 21, on the theme: “The Educational Values of School Sports, an Asset for Success”.
Nearly 200 middle and high schools in the Nice academy are organizing events as part of this occasion.
The Rector Claire Lovisi and the Inspector of Academics for the Alpes-Maritimes, Philippe Jourdan, will be visiting Nice on September 21 at 2 PM, at the Jules Romains middle school and the primary school at the Digue des Franรงais.
- At the Jules Romains middle school, about a hundred students will participate in the following activities: badminton and table tennis for free play, rock climbing demonstrations by STAPS (Sciences and Techniques of Physical and Sporting Activities) students, basketball and handball matches between students, and a first-aid workshop. A shared sports agreement will be signed between the National Education, the CROS (Regional Olympic and Sports Committee) Cรดte dโAzur, and the UNSS (National Union of School Sports).

At the primary school of the Digue des Franรงais, an “open house” afternoon will be organized in the schoolyard with interactive workshops in athletics, combat sports, and basketball.
This School Sports Day aims to promote the activities of school sports associations and federations to students, educational teams, parents, and the local sports community. This day brings together all partners of school sports: the UNSS, the USEP (Sports Union for Primary Education), the UGSEL (General Sports Union for Independent Education), the CNOSF (National Olympic and Sports Committee of France), and the ambassadors of school sports.
