Everyone is concerned! You too, dare to get screened!
Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women: every year, it affects 59,000 people and causes 12,000 deaths.
Early detection is crucial to better fight this disease.
In the face of this scourge, the Alpes-Maritimes Department is joining the national Pink October campaign, which was supposed to start this Friday, October 2nd, but will be postponed to a later date due to the storm “ALEX.” With the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic that has led to delays in cancer diagnosis and treatment, this campaign is more vital than ever.
The goal remains unchanged: to massively raise awareness about breast cancer screening.
The earlier breast cancer is detected, the better the chances of recovery. This is why healthcare professionals in the Department allow women aged 50 to 74, residing and insured in the Alpes-Maritimes, to benefit from quality screening every two years.
