The administrative court confirms the ban on the circulation of heavy trucks in the Roya Valley.

The administrative court yesterday upheld the order banning the circulation of trucks over 19 tons in the Roya Valley (RD 6204), enacted in 2017 by the Department of Alpes-Maritimes in consultation with the five mayors of the traversed municipalities: Fontan, Breil-sur-Roya, Saorge, La Brigue, and Tende.

The legitimacy of this joint position between the Department and the municipalities is thus judicially endorsed.

Issued in coordination with decisions by the five mayors of the valley, who also regulated traffic within their municipalities, this order aims to put an end to significant nuisances affecting the quality of life for local residents.

For Charles Ange Ginésy, president of the Departmental Council: “I am very satisfied with the decision rendered by the Justice, which definitively vindicates the mayors of the Roya Valley and the Department of Alpes-Maritimes, which I preside over.”
