The Airport Supervisory Board is considering a financial contribution for the airport connection project by the future East-West tram line.
The Council has voted favorably for this project and is considering a financial contribution that could be between €10.2 million and €12.6 million (a grant that will be refined based on more precise financial studies to be conducted).
Nice Airport, the second-largest airport in France, must be served by the future East-West tram line, thus offering travelers a clean, compact, and fast mode of transport to the city center of Nice and its Port, to the CADAM, and also to the Saint-Augustin Multimodal Hub, creating a link with TER connections to Cannes and Monaco, and later with the high-speed rail line towards Genoa, then Paris.
Christian Estrosi, the mayor of Nice, commented with satisfaction on this decision: “The arrival of the tramway at the airport would be a very important asset, both for the airport’s activity and its real estate assets.”
