The authors: Bernard Maccario and Yvan Gastaut
These two specialists in sports in the south of France have distinct backgrounds; Bernard Maccario notably directed the Francophonie Games held in Nice in 2013 and published the book “Jean Bouin” with Chistera editions. Yvan Gastaut is a Senior Lecturer at the UFR STAPS at the University of Nice; he has published numerous articles on sport in the Alpes-Maritimes department and has been co-organizing the Meetings on Sports Heritage and Sport Memory since 2011.
