Indeed, Joël Santini, General Director of CAL (Antoine Lacassagne Center), took advantage of this event to unveil some of the center’s future projects. « We have several projects underway for 2011. Among others, the creation of a university institute, a breast clinic where women will find everything they need. But above all, a high-energy proton therapy center!» the professor enthuses. As early as 1991, the Lacassagne Center was the first establishment to treat eye cancer using this proton therapy technique, « which is what earned it its national and international reputation » adds Joël Santini. In addition to these various projects are the charitable events linked to CAL.

Charitable Events to Celebrate the Fiftieth Anniversary

On the occasion of the center’s fiftieth anniversary, many partners have made it a point to accompany and support the doctors’ actions at the establishment. « Their message through the choir » is the slogan used by the artists who will participate in the different charitable concerts organized for CAL. Andrée Cantelli, CAL’s communications officer, wished to pay tribute to these artists: «they are dancers, musicians, or singers and they have all, voluntarily, agreed to organize these events. It’s a very generous gesture!» she confides. This series of concerts will begin on March 9th with the Nice Jazz Orchestra performing at the Nice Opera House.
