Since 2004, the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been mobilized with all its partners in favor of housing for the workforce.
The year 2007 was marked by the holding of the first Housing Conference for the workforce, the founding act of a real departmental commitment.
With nearly 400 participants, this event made it possible to observe advances in the issue of workforce housing, but these are still insufficient. 12 proposals from the CCI Nice Cรดte d’Azur were developed around four major challenges for 2007-2009:
– Develop an ambitious policy of land reservation and acquisition for the medium and long term,
– Increase from 1500 to 2000 subsidized housing units financed per year,
– Promote access to housing and restore the residential path for the workforce,
– Implement innovative real estate programs and banking arrangements.
Many mayors who signed the economic pact, launched during the 2008 municipal elections, committed to concrete actions in favor of housing, demonstrating their willingness to act in this field.
These 2nd Housing Conferences will be an opportunity to review the progress of the proposals put forward by partners of the initiative, to give the floor to real estate professionals, and to address issues related to the environmental pact.
