The Food Bank of Alpes Maritimes has just signed with the city of Antibes the Charter of Commitment of Food Aid Actors aimed at ensuring better coordination of Antibes associations distributing food aid.
The signatories of this charter have committed to cooperating with the municipality and the CCAS of Antibes to centralize and analyze information and indicators coming from the field, and to better anticipate crisis situations.
In light of an increase in the number of people seeking food aid, a change in the profile of beneficiaries, and a lack of operational efficiency in food aid within the municipal area, the City of Antibes and its CCAS, along with the main concerned associations, have developed a โCharter of Commitment of Food Aid Actors in the Municipality of Antibes – Juan les Pins.โ
This charter, in line with the โNational Charter for Food and Inclusion,โ provides for:
- Reintegrating food into an environment that fosters social ties.
- Improving the nutritional balance to preserve the health of those concerned.
- Encouraging food collection and distribution operations with respect for those involved.
- Better understanding the beneficiaries and their nutritional status to better meet their needs.
A quarterly meeting will allow for:
- Establishing a directory of food aid actors.
- Facilitating the guidance of beneficiaries according to their profile and that of humanitarian associations.
- Creating a single liaison form for the guidance of beneficiaries.
- Developing a plan for managing critical periods (summer, Christmas, etc.).
Joining Mr. Jean Leonetti, Deputy Mayor of Antibes, in signing this charter were: AJF (Action for Youth and Family), the Food Bank of Alpes Maritimes, the CCAS of Antibes, the Red Cross, the Catholic Relief, and the Peopleโs Relief.
Other food aid operators in the municipality have, of course, been invited to join this working group.
