The Blue Planet Honored at the Nice Carnival from February 12 to 28, 2010

For the 2010 carnival, ecology is the key word. Sustainable development is at the heart of the festivities: LEDs, murals on recyclable tarps, low-consumption screens, recycling workshops… Generators are eliminated and materials for the floats are reused.

Twenty allegorical or burlesque floats will parade, accompanied by about 30 “big heads” and 200 animated elements such as street art troupes and musical groups from the five continents.

Of course, the flower battles are also on the agenda. New 360° open floats will circulate along the Promenade des Anglais. Dressed in roses, carnations, snapdragons, or mimosas, they showcase the region’s floral heritage, as 85% of the flowers displayed are produced in the region.

Carnival 2010 promises to be another great celebration this year, under the watchful eye of His Majesty the King of the Blue Planet.
