I don’t know about you, but as soon as the first rays of sun appear to warm the atmosphere, I feel like reading. It’s as if the heat has an effect on my body. Who knows, maybe it’s a new disease that doctors haven’t discovered yet! In any case, for once, a disease that allows me to travel, I’m not going to risk trying to cure it. So, quick, a book! Problem is, I’ve just exhausted my library. Indeed, I could pick up one of my books where the dust is beginning to settle, but re-reading a book, no matter how good, doesn’t tempt me.
Today, it’s June 7, it’s warm, and I have nothing to read while lying under my parasol. It’s true that the book is the faithful companion of summer or, excuse me, gentlemen, the faithful girlfriend of summer who allows us additionally to “leave our limited life, our era, our space, this prison that is our society and this cell that is our self,” as Emmanuel Schmitt wrote. How many people do you see on the beaches with a book in hand? Are they reading sincerely or hiding to better gaze behind their dark glasses and pages that turn with the movement of the waves?
Yes, the book accompanies our summers and there is nothing better than a festival to honor it. This is what the city of Nice is offering you this weekend, for free:
– 250 writers,
– Meetings, signing sessions,
– Performances,
– Literary cafe, philosophy cafe, or round tables,

A great new feature this year, an entirely free festive evening filled with literary and cultural performances: Saturday, June 10 from 19:00 on the Quai des Ponchettes.
A weekend under the sign of writing will allow us to do our little market and expand our library.
Exquisite! Yes, I know some of you will tell me: “No need to wait for this festival to buy a book!” True, but here you will have the chance to discuss with the writers and thus get a little idea of what you are going to read.
