The Sport 06 Ambassadors ceremony will take place this Thursday, February 6, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. under the sponsorship of Didier Deschamps, as well as the presentation of the athletes selected for the CD06 team for Tokyo 2020.
Through the Sport 06 ambassadors, the departmental council of Alpes-Maritimes encourages and congratulates the young athletes from the region who are promising for a great sporting future, as well as the high-level athletes who have shone on the international stage.
Thus, this Sport 06 Ambassadors ceremony highlights all athletes, without distinction between able-bodied athletes and those from adapted sports, in order to promote excellence beyond differences.
This year, in this 7th edition sponsored by Didier Deschamps, a total of 227 champions from 19 sports federations and 36 different disciplines will be honored.
Additionally, during this Sport 06 ambassador evening, the CD06 team for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be presented.
The departmental council of Alpes-Maritimes wished to continue its initiative started in 2012 aimed at financially encouraging high-level athletes striving for selection to the Olympics by creating the CD06 team.
This team will consist of athletes licensed in Alpes-Maritimes who practice Olympic or Paralympic disciplines at the highest international level, each with the ambition to qualify for the Olympics or Paralympics in Japan and to seek medals.
