The association “Si le chล“ur vous en dit”, in partnership with the City of Biot, is organizing the 2nd Biot Choir Festival, which will take place over four events on Saturday 3rd, and on Friday 9th, Saturday 10th, and Sunday 11th October.

On the program: the “Misa Cubana” by Josรฉ Maria Vitier on Saturday, October 3rd, the “Misa Tango” by Martin Palmeri on Friday, October 9th, and the “Stabat Mater” by Antonin Dvorak on Saturday, October 10th, all three held at Sainte Marie-Madeleine Church at 8:45 PM.

The success of the first edition of the Choir Festival in October 2014 was a very pleasant surprise for the artistic director. “We had no idea if we would find an audience and the fact that each concert was sold out was a great joy,” said Olivier Augรฉ-Laribรฉ, president of the organizing association.

“We gave the invited choirs free rein, and to our pleasant surprise, the coherence was immediately evident,” rejoices the artistic director of the festival, Olivier Augรฉ-Laribรฉ.

Indeed, the works performed on October 3rd and 9th are both masses composed in South America. Of classical design, they also include introductions very typical of their countries of origin. As for the “Stabat Mater” by Antonin Dvorak, it is also sophisticated music influenced by the original folklore and the Czech soul.

The performers on October 3rd for the “Misa Cubana” will be the vocal ensemble “Les Menestrels dโ€™Antibes” and the choir “Americanto” from Clermont-Ferrand under the direction of Kato Rodriguez; on October 9th for the “Misa Tango,” the Regional Choir Vocal Cรดte dโ€™Azur and the instrumental ensemble Sympho Sophia under the direction of Nicole Blanchi; on October 10th for the “Stabat Mater,” the choir “Musiques en Jeux” under the direction of Alain Joutard.
