Christian Estrosi invited local “influencers” yesterday to present them with an unprecedented collaboration project.
The idea is to showcase Nice and promote its image through the web. The aim is to allow more and more residents and visitors to share their love for Nice.
This is what Christian Estrosi was trying to emphasize yesterday at noon on the Beau Rivage Beach, in the presence of about thirty local influencers, for the creation of Nice’s Instagram guide, a first in France!
This annual paper guide, organized into several categories (where to eat, where to sleep, where to foster culture, etc.) and in a square, easy-to-carry format, will be released in the summer of 2019. The distribution of the guide will be partially free, and copies can be sold at the Maison de Nice.
Influencers have the opportunity to post an Instagram photo representing Nice from now until April 15, 2019, accompanied by a description. The photo must mention the account @villedenice and the hashtags #ILoveNice and #GuideInstaNice.
The guide will feature the account of the person who posted the photo and the description of the selected photo. The photos will be selected by the city of Nice, except for the cover, which will be chosen by a jury.
“If this first guide is met with great success, it is not impossible that we could extend it to the entire Metropolis, an exceptional territory between sea and mountains,” declared C. Estrosi.
“This initiative is part of the continuation of the #ILoveNice operation, which has become the emblem of the City of Nice and enjoys real success on social networks,” added the Mayor. Since its creation, #ILoveNice has been mentioned over 216,000 times on Instagram.
A project that delighted the thirty or so influencers present, like Zoé, originally from Moscow, who runs an Instagram account about oenology and gastronomy. Or Fred (fred_explorer), a Cannes resident followed by nearly 4,000 followers. “I love taking landscape photos. The idea of sharing my photos appealed to me. By posting photos of our beautiful region with #ILoveNice, I got noticed and then selected to participate in this project. It was really important to me to showcase the richness of our local heritage.”
