“The Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur aims to be one of the leading European territories in terms of sustainable development and connectivity.” This was stated yesterday at Villa Masséna by the Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi.

By signing a collaboration agreement with the Cisco France group* at the first Innovative City Convention on “smart cities”, the City of Nice plans to successfully implement strategic projects in education and health.

This is an opportunity for the azure commune to become the new smart and sustainable metropolis of the Mediterranean. A profound evolution of the organizational structure of the Éco-Vallée territory, seen as a source of growth, job creation, and better social harmony.

The valuable support from Cisco and its expertise in digital technology will enable the development of the metropolis’s strategy for innovation and competitiveness.

Cisco is already providing its technology expertise to the City of Nice in the areas of transportation, environmental and urban risk management, and reducing environmental impact.

For Christian Estrosi, the goal of this partnership is to “place innovative technologies and internet infrastructures at the heart of the new balance between economic development, social harmony, and environmental protection.”

Robert Vassoyan, CEO of Cisco France, emphasized the importance of digital technology which, in a broad sense, “is truly the 4th key element to consider in the organization of the territory.”

Within the framework of this agreement, the municipality also plans to organize “next-generation” workspaces that will provide services promoting economic development for businesses.

It is also committed to developing the education sector as part of the “Campus Prometteur” plan initiatives in partnership with the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, to which it will contribute 60 million euros for its development.
