The city of Nice is launching its new portal for Azur students.

Nice Premium met with Agnès Rampal, Deputy Mayor in charge of Higher Education and New Technologies, who explains what this new platform will bring to student and Azorean life.

Student life, studies and training, study financing, jobs and internships, health and social or even sports and leisure, everything that Nice and Azorean students wanted to know but never dared to ask…

Nice Premium: Agnès Rampal, could you tell us more about this new platform https://etudiants.nice.fr?

Agnès Rampal: This new platform is a new internet portal of the city dedicated to students, much more in line with the communication needs of young people: indeed, by bringing together all the information from partners and student associations on this portal, we aim to offer Nice and Azorean students a complete, participative, and updated portal regarding their studies as well as student life.

NP: What do you expect from this new virtual space intended for Azorean students?

AR: I hope it will become something like “the portal of Azorean student life” that will allow all Nice students, regardless of where they are studying (University, Schools, IUT…), to join the large Nice student community and fully participate in its dynamic; for that, we had to offer a unique place of information to all students who are separated from one another across campuses or schools scattered throughout the city.

NP: Will it also be an interactive space for those who create student life in Nice and on the Côte d’Azur?

AR: That’s the whole challenge of this platform: to provide students with the most complete information possible in a form adapted to their electronic communication mode. For this, we have chosen a simple Facebook-style presentation. But above all, this site is interactive and allows having contributors among all higher education actors who can propose articles on news and information with constant updates.

NP: For the first time, the city of Nice will welcome its students next Thursday. What will this day entail?

AR: It’s a day reserved for new students aimed at better integrating them: when leaving high school, and even more so when coming from another region or even another country, one loses their usual bearings and can sometimes feel isolated. The idea is to allow students to get to know the city, the different student world partners, and above all to get to know each other through fun and cultural events: discovery rally in the morning, Nissaréna in the afternoon, and a closing evening for students who have registered for the day.

This is a first organized with Face 06, Crous, the University, all higher education institutions but also Lignes d’Azur, AFIJ, CRIJ…

NP: Finally, how do you view the higher education landscape in Nice and on the Côte?

AR: It is extremely promising because the Minister Mayor’s will is clear, and this will allows all partners to unite around a common ambition: to make Nice a student city rich in quality teachings but also rich in a welcoming student life for all students whether they are from Nice or abroad.
