D-180! Before the kickoff of EURO 2016, one of the largest sporting events in the world, the City of Nice is launching its volunteer recruitment campaign…
The municipality is seeking 600 volunteers to oversee the different areas of the fan zone and the main gathering points for supporters. Essential participants in ensuring the smooth running of the EURO 2016 festivities within these “zones” located in the city center, the volunteers will be responsible for welcoming, informing, and guiding residents, supporters, and tourists who wish to join the celebration!
What is the Fan Zone?
The fan zone, a real village dedicated to EURO 2016, will be open from June 10 to July 10, 2016, and will include two areas:
· A “broadcast area” located between the Théâtre de Verdure and Albert 1er garden (similar to the model of the Nice Jazz Festival), with a capacity for 10,000 people on match nights, allowing for the installation of 2 giant screens and 1 dining area;
· An “activity area” of over 8,000 m², open-air, located on the Quai des États-Unis where sports and cultural activities will be offered throughout the day.
