The City of Nice launches a population census campaign for the year 2023. It will take place from Thursday, January 19 to Saturday, February 25, 2023.
Every year, 8% of the housing units in cities with more than 10,000 inhabitants are surveyed under the authority of INSEE. Therefore, from January 19 to February 25, 2023, the City of Nice is launching its new census. A large collection is organized, and for this occasion, nearly 70 census agents are recruited.
How will the census take place? Between January 2 and January 8, census agents will distribute an information letter in the mailboxes of the affected housing units. This will inform you that you are part of the census for this year.

This is the start of the census campaign. The census agents will visit the designated homes in Nice, equipped with their official identification cards. It is important to note that they are bound by professional confidentiality during this operation. You will be given an explanatory notice, with an access code and a password. These credentials are for those who wish to respond online on le-recensement-et-moi.fr, a useful link during this census campaign. For those who prefer to respond on paper, the agents will leave a housing form and as many individual bulletins as necessary. They will return later to collect them from the designated homes.
This census is a way to determine the official population of the municipality every year. It also provides statistical information on the population (age, modes of transportation, etc.), as well as on housing (size, age, etc.).
Participation in this census is mandatory as a civic duty. It is important that each person surveyed responds correctly to the questionnaire so that the census results are of high quality.
