“History of…” is a collective photographic exhibition proposed by 10 photographers from the collective.
“The life throbs with a thousand tiny moments, slices of intimate life that the attentive artist knows how to illuminate,” writes Rรฉmi Tournier, the author of the texts.
The Photon collective asked its members, who are accustomed to working with standalone photographs that are self-sufficient, to become storytellers, to impart movement to successive images by inventing a progression, a harmony between them. Thus, these photographers, in a dynamic akin to comic strips, have embarked, with these inventive vignettes, on the task of becoming storytellers, enchanting reality in little “magic lantern” films.
We are in an aesthetic close to short films. It’s about being efficient, quickly. Each photo gives a boost to the next to produce a surprising, moving or funny effect. One must create anticipation to further disrupt it.
Come take a stroll through these “film-strip sheets” where the moment is inscribed in a movement that makes it dance, embark on these tiny adventures that turn existence into a theater scene. The magical land is very close!!”
