AnimaNice and the Food Bank of Alpes-Maritimes collected four tons of foodstuffs this Tuesday, April 9, 2024.
Until April 5, 2024, the 17 AnimaNice centers are mobilizing in favor of the Food Bank of Alpes-Maritimes for a collection under the banner of art and culture. Mado la Niçoise lends her voice as the patron of the organization. For the second consecutive year, Noëlle Perna embodies, not Mado la Niçoise, but the role of the patron of the Food Bank.
Tony Amato, President of the Food Bank of Alpes-Maritimes, thanks all the participants in this donation: “You are important to us! With just one letter, we can change the word solitary to solidarity. A hundred associations are supplied by AnimaNice every day thanks to the Food Bank. What you do is great, what you do is beautiful! That’s what the volunteers of AnimaNice and the Food Bank do every day. You are an example of sharing and fraternity.”
A Second Surpassed Edition
Last year, the organization collected 1.5 tons of foodstuffs, equating to more than 3,000 meals. The residents of Nice were invited to enjoy the various shows and activities planned at the centers. In exchange, visitors donated food products (four products for entry). In total, over 40 activities were offered by the 17 AnimaNice centers and their three theaters. By gathering all the neighborhoods of the city of Nice, there were more than 4,000 mobilizations. This allowed the collection of more than four tons of foodstuffs, which equates to 8,000 meals.
With the mayor of Nice, AnimaNice opened its doors to all the schools in the city of Nice, for the Food Bank collection. “Today I am happy to announce, we are already at 4,300 kg collected by school children,” says Pierre Fiori, Municipal Councilor delegated to Municipal Buildings, Sub-delegated to School Works, Citizenship at School, and AnimaNice. With the collaboration of Nice’s schools, the amount then rises to more than seven tons, equivalent to more than 13,000 meals: “We have already doubled last year’s result,” he adds.
