Born of a MOL father and a DAVE mother, Laurence grew up in the Moldovan capital BRITT, famous worldwide for its doll factory.
Coming from a modest background where it was hard to make ends meet, her father was a fakir and her mother made nails. Throughout her childhood, Laurence dreamed of owning a SCOTCH brand doll, the famous “Scotch Britt” dolls that were the delight of budding rich capitalists!
Leaving her native Moldova at 16, with an inflater and a piece of plastic, Laurence travels the wide world and finally lands in Nice. Laurence then meets the divine bald Alain BARBIE (no relation to his sadly famous namesake). Together, Laurence and Alain decide to create a show with the few elements they have: the inflater, and that piece of plastic… Far from suspecting that from the alliance of their talents and imagination, the famous inflatable doll would be born, which is rumored to be cursed…
A very private interview with the beautiful and talented Laurence Noférini, just before the opening night!
The editorial team: Hello Laurence, after this little biographical introduction, can you tell us about your show?
Laurence: Biography of whom?? Definitely not mine, I don’t understand this introduction at all!
Henri CONCAS: What do you mean, Laurence? Could we have mixed up the show?
Laurence: There is indeed an inflatable doll and a curse, but I must clarify that my father is not Mol and my mother is not Dave… although…
The editorial team: Hmm… this seems quite confusing indeed… Laurence, explain to us exactly what it’s about!
Laurence: Oh no, you won’t know anything, you’ll have to come see the show this weekend!
The editorial team: Come on Laurence, a little scoop for Nice-Premium readers
Laurence: Alright, okay, it’s just because it’s you! To some, I would say the show is about relationships between colleagues, or about family life, or about life as a couple.
To others, I would say that when an adorable inflatable doll dreams of transforming into a woman of flesh and blood thanks to the kiss of a charming prince, and the long-awaited saving kiss is given to her by a charming princess, anything becomes possible!!!
The editorial team: Laurence, you’re making our mouths water!
Laurence: Absolutely, now you have to come see the show to discover the rest… all I can tell you is that if you like one-woman shows performed for the first time, set to the tempo of humor, and of course, if you don’t get stage fright, unlike me, you’ll really enjoy yourself the weekend of May 1st at the Bouffscène in Nice!!
The editorial team: Well, that’s good news!! So the show “The Curse of the Inflatable Doll” is to be enjoyed starting tonight and until Sunday night, from 9 p.m., at the Bouffscène in Nice, 2 rue Caissotti, reservations recommended at 04 93 55 54 78.
Laurence: ah finally there’s some good information! Thank you, and I hope to see many of you this weekend to discover what is ultimately the curse of the inflatable doll!
