Charles Ange Ginésy: “The SMART Deal is celebrating its 3rd anniversary. Since 2018, we can be proud of what we have accomplished through this strong departmental policy on digital technology. We have met the challenges and turned our territory into an innovative and dynamic ecosystem: the goals have been achieved!”
Major projects have emerged, such as the creation of the first House of Artificial Intelligence in Europe at Sophia Antipolis.
Focus on the main flagship projects of the SMART Deal launched in 2020.
“Regards de collégiens” (Students’ Perspectives): an essential tool to showcase the educational work done by the students
The Alpes-Maritimes Department, in partnership with the Nice Rectorate, launched the website https://regardsdecollegiens.departement06.fr/a-propos-35817.html at the start of the 2020 academic year. The objective is to disseminate and promote short videos from educational experiences conducted with middle school students.*
“Arc en Ciel” (Rainbow): a unique project in France to make 75% of middle school students in the Alpes-Maritimes aware of AI within 3 years
The Department aims to introduce and let young generations experiment with artificial intelligence starting from the 2020 academic year. To this end, the Arc-en-Ciel project emphasizes a dual approach: theoretical, to understand computational thinking, coding, algorithms… but also practical, offering various experiments based on different themes (daily life, territory, health, culture…). These are designed in collaboration with the AI ecosystem of the Côte d’Azur. Several learning formats are used: courses, MOOCs, workshops, and both virtual/in-person educational pathways, as well as webinars and TV shows. More than 400 middle school students have already been welcomed to the MIA as part of this project.
Implementation of a chatbot on mesdémarches06 to facilitate online requests from users
The Alpes-Maritimes Department continues its commitment to modernize e-administration. On January 25th, a virtual assistant was launched to simplify users’ administrative processes. This increases the possibilities for online interactions with users on mesdémarches06, a true one-stop shop, and supports the digitization of files, correspondence, and grant requests.
The natural risk management platform
Following the study launched by the IMREDD, the Department is currently continuing its development. It will be essential for anticipating and predicting the natural hazards that the territory is likely to face due to climate change.
