MDD and MDS: A Local Territorial Network
The ambition of the MDD (Maisons des Départements) and MDS (Maisons des Solidarités) is to enhance territorial solidarity and attractiveness. Created in 2006 and 2013 respectively, these local hubs are labeled “Public Service Houses” by the State. They enable the concentration of departmental and institutional partner actions in a single location, ensuring equal access for all to public services by providing quick and effective responses to everyday life questions, serving users free of charge, guiding them, and facilitating their interactions with administrations.
The Digital Transition, a “Smart Deal”: New Challenge for MDD and MDS
For many years, the Department has distinguished itself with a very proactive policy regarding the accessibility of services to the public through its MDD and MDS. To make the offered service even more efficient and adapted to new digital service needs, and as part of the “Smart Deal,” the MDD and MDS aim to support the digitization of public services by developing a reception focused on users’ digital mediation, enhancing local proximity through itinerant services or service pooling, and redefining the mission of being a relay for partner public services.
