The Alpes Maritimes department officially launches the new season of the free shuttle “LOU PASSAGIN”.

This reconditioned fishing boat allows locals and tourists alike to travel between the two banks of the Port of Nice.

Since 2012, the department has been reconnecting with this tradition dear to the people of Nice. This 100% ecological and silent shuttle gives the Port of Nice an attractive and radiant character.

Capable of carrying up to 5 passengers per crossing, it allows the people of Nice to relive this tradition that marked the port between the 1920s and the 1960s. They rediscover the Lympia basin from a new perspective.

Lou Passagin is experiencing remarkable success according to Christian CORAN, owner of the Passagin. Over 200,000 passengers have been transported since its creation.

The crossing is free and operates between the Lunel quay, at the level of Charles Félix dock on the West bank, and the Entrecasteaux quay for the East bank 7 days a week, from 10 am to 7 pm non-stop.

“It’s a fun way to make a sea crossing, certainly short but useful to relive the history and culture of the city,” says Eric CIOTTI, president of the Alpes Maritimes department.

This new season has a particular feature. This shuttle will allow tourists and locals to directly reach the Lympia gallery, a prominent art and culture venue that will host the exceptional GIACOMETTI exhibition this summer.

This year, Lou Passagin will operate from April 29 to October 15.
