The Festival du Peu in Bonson: Creation, Culture, and Social Connection

Latest News

Le Festival du Peu is part of the recent history of contemporary art in our region, with many specific features. Located in Bonson (Estéron Valley, Alpes-Martimes), away from the hustle and bustle of the coast, it stands out first by its character as a popular event.

Since the creation of this event in 2003, the village population has indeed been directly involved, under the theme of the — modest and genius? — form imagined by the artist Jean Mas.

Le Peu has thus accumulated, over its nine years of existence, a series of experiences aimed at reconsidering creation outside the usual stances of the art world.

Atypical in its mode of presentation — an exhibition taking over an entire village in spaces both conventional and unexpected — the festival is also unique in its organization as a committee, as well as in its open programming which gives rise to a variety of thematic explorations — air, movement, infinity…

Calling upon all modes of expression, from monumental art to performance, showcasing the works of emerging artists as well as established creators, the Festival du Peu today represents a unique proposition in the artistic landscape of the Côte d’Azur.
