Yesterday morning, the President of the Alpes-Maritimes Department presented the future project of the departmental supervision center. This new initiative aims to enhance the safety of the population.

Yesterday morning, in the presence of a delegation from the Assembly of French Departments, the President of the Alpes-Maritimes, Charles-Ange Ginesy, presented the future Departmental Supervision Center. Scheduled for summer 2026, the tool will enhance the safety of the population and the coordination between video protection systems throughout the department.

Established as part of a syndicate involving the Department and the voluntary municipalities (located in the gendarmerie zone). The center will allow municipalities to share their equipment at the departmental level. To date, 17 municipalities have already applied for membership to the center: Breil-sur-Roya, Le Broc, Cap-d’Ail, Castillon, Châteauneuf-Villevieille, La Croix-sur-Roudoule, Guillaumes, Péone, Isola, Roquebillière, Saint-Auban, Saint-Blaise, Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée, Saint-Martin-Vésubie, Tourrette-Levens, Valderoure, and Tende.

The municipalities will benefit from the syndicate’s assistance in acquiring, installing, and maintaining video protection devices. Municipalities still lacking video protection will be able to receive assistance from the syndicate to acquire similar equipment as other municipalities to reduce costs.

Rapid response thanks to the new system

Operated by agents throughout the day, the center will aim to prevent acts of delinquency, monitor sensitive sites, and secure people and property. The use of video protection tools will enhance anomaly detection and coordinate rapid interventions with the Gendarmerie Operations and Intelligence Center (CORG).

A project that reflects the priority of the department’s president: “The safety of citizens is a priority for the Departments of France (…) (It is) a strong investment by the Department to serve the safety of the Maralpins, risk prevention, and the protection of our territories.”
