It was under a pouring rain that the city of Nice, represented by its Mayor, Christian Estrosi, accompanied by the President of the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes, Eric Ciotti, welcomed Bernadette Chirac and Christian Karembeu, this Saturday, February 8, to conclude the grand event of the Pièces Jaunes.
Numerous activities were on the program: Dance, shows, competitions, and on the other side, along the Promenade des Anglais, collection stands, face painting…
The city of Nice, organizer of this event with the Foundation, had also planned a concert with Collectif Métissé and the first two winners of the show “The Voice” season 2: Yoann Fréget and Olympe.
This year, the event did not experience large crowds due to the very bad weather conditions and continuous rain. But, out of sight doesn’t necessarily mean out of mind for the people of Nice,
Thanks to everyone’s generosity, the Foundation collected 1.780 tons of coins (1.570 in 2013) in favor of children and elderly hospitalized people.
The sun was indeed present yesterday on the Promenade des Anglais, it was just hidden behind a few rainy clouds…
