Yesterday afternoon at MIPIM, at the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis stand, the visuals of blocks 3.3 and 3.5, the first two projects of the Grand Arénas, at the heart of the Eco-Valley Plaine du Var, were unveiled.

The Grand Arénas, the new international business district in the city center, is based on the principle of urban diversity, with offices, hotels, housing, and public facilities: a business district open to the world and within the city.

It will incorporate the multimodal transport exchange hub and an 85,000 square meter exhibition center, which will be able to host international events.

For Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice and President of the Metropolis: “The Grand Arénas has all the assets to attract international companies thanks to its geographic location by the sea, at the city’s doorstep and in close proximity to Nice Côte d’Azur international airport, the second largest airport in France after Paris.”

The Mayor of Nice himself illustrated these achievements:

“For block 3.3, it is an LE CONNEXIO building with 12,000 square meters of offices and services. Marc Barani, one of our greatest French architects and moreover from Nice, designs a contemporary and high-quality building adapted to current user expectations. The elongated shape of this building is linked to its geographic location. Its delivery is scheduled for late 2018.

Block 3.5 is a mixed-use project of 20,000 square meters consisting of offices, shops, and a hotel program. The SCAU agency designed this luxurious stainless steel and glass building. I am delighted to announce that the commercialization of these 2 hotels has just been finalized with the prestigious InterContinental group. This international brand is a guarantee of quality and excellence in line with our ambition for the Eco-Valley.”

BNP Paribas with block 3.3 and Nacarat with block 3.5 will be the developers financing these two real estate operations.

At the inauguration of the two buildings (3.3 and 3.5), the west-east tram line and the bus station will be delivered, and the train station will be nearing completion.

Finally, thanks to the “EcoCité” initiative, these 2 energy-efficient and environmentally high-performance blocks, developed in conjunction with Engie and GDF OS, received €3.7 million from the national “City of Tomorrow” fund as part of future investment programs and in December 2015, €7.4 million.
