As every summer, the City of Nice organizes open-air screenings. This weekend features a classic of French cinema.

This Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 8:30 PM, a free open-air cinema session will be accessible to all residents of Nice in the Auguste Vรฉrola Garden.

It is the cult film โ€œLes tontons flingueursโ€ by George Lautner featuring Lino Ventura, Bernard Blier, and Jean Lefebvre, unforgettable for its dialogues and lines that have become part of French popular culture.

This 1h45min film, released in 1963, immerses us in the life of Fernand Naudin (Lino Ventura). As the owner of a small tractor factory, he leads a quiet and uneventful life until a telegram calls him to Paris. He arrives just in time to witness the last breath of a childhood friend, Louis known as โ€œthe Mexican,โ€ who entrusts him with his shady affairs as well as the care of his daughter Patricia. And the troubles beginโ€ฆ

The โ€œopen-air cinemaโ€ events have become essential, allowing everyone to discover (or rediscover) a film with the aim of maintaining a convivial family bond in the neighborhood.

Entry is free from 8:30 PM, and the screening will begin at 9:30 PM in the Auguste Vรฉrola Garden.
