The historic volleyball tournament returns for two days in the azure capital.
This Saturday, July 9, and Sunday, July 10 on the beaches of Ponchettes and Carras, the Nice Beach Pro Tour, the famous men’s and women’s volleyball tournament, is back.
Originally, this tournament featured teams of three players competing at the national level. In 2020, the sports format changed to be included in the circuit of the French Volleyball Federation, the France Beach Volley Series, and is now played as two against two.
This year again, the Nice Beach Pro Tour will offer the azurean public an exceptional level of play thanks to the presence of many nationally and internationally titled players. For this 23rd edition, two players from the French women’s volleyball team (Amรฉlie Rotar and Amandine Giardino) will be among the favorites of the competition. Olivier Barthรฉlรฉmy, a player from Nice who was the French champion in 2021 and winner at the Mediterranean Games in 2019, will also be present to try to win a new title.
The first day of this tournament will start this Saturday at 2:00 PM, on the two beach volleyball courts of the Ponchettes and Carras beaches.
Sunday, starting at 9:00 AM, the quarterfinals for both categories will be played on the Ponchettes courts. The semifinals and then the finals are scheduled for 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM. Around 6:30 PM, the winners will receive their awards from representatives of the City of Nice, the Department, and the Region.
In total, there will be nearly 100 participants trying their luck to win the trophy and the 1,000 points that will qualify them for the finals of the 2022 French men’s and women’s championships, which will take place in Saint-Laurent-du-Var.
