Yesterday, OGC Nice visited its supporters during an afternoon of activities at the Espace Jean Ferrat in Drap. It was an opportunity for 3 Aiglons to meet the young public of the Vallée du Paillon.
More than 800 people traveled to Drap yesterday to meet OGC Nice. After Pégomas, it was to Drap that the Gym moved for an afternoon of “discovery.” The club from the Côte d’Azur went all out to welcome children and parents. Inflatable structures were installed to animate this “mini OGC Nice village.”
The children could “shoot at goal” thanks to a football cage; play “football-tennis” and 3-on-3 matches on small fields. The children also had the opportunity to get face-painted by club members present on site. For the parents, information stands were also offered.
Thus, the Méfi Club, a supporters’ club for children under 12, was on site to promote its activities. Gym fans had the opportunity to learn about the OGC Nice Endowment Fund.
I. Sacko, P. Lees-Melou, and C. Jallet meet the supporters
But the highlight of the afternoon was the signing session with 3 Gym players who made the trip. Thus, Ishan Sacko, Pierre Lees-Melou, and Christophe Jallet arrived to the cheers of Gym supporters at the Espace Jean Ferrat.
For more than an hour, the 3 Aiglons signed autographs and took photos with their supporters who came despite the rain. “It’s very pleasant, we’ve been waiting for them for an hour, my children played football outside. They’ve just gotten their autographs signed and taken photos. They are super friendly with the children,” says Marie, who came with her kids. “It’s the first time I see them. It’s cool that they come to us. Usually, we see them at the stadium, but now I was able to take selfies with them,” says young Ulysse, 11 years old.
More than 800 people (quite a number) braved the light rain to participate in this afternoon. “It’s true that it’s a shame about the rain, but the most important thing is that the children are happy. They are, that’s the main thing,” adds Marie.
“We see that the supporters are happy to see us, so we are too”
A beautiful moment for everyone and a good breath of fresh air for the players during these 15 days of break. “It’s always nice to come and spend some time with our supporters, we see that they are happy to see us so we are too, of course,” says Gym defender Christophe Jallet.
He adds, “I’ve never been here before, so I’m killing two birds with one stone.” An afternoon of discovery for both parties. Both players and supporters found their satisfaction. No worries, the Côte d’Azur club has planned other afternoons in other villages in the department.
