– Over 100 chalk drawings on the ground created by the children of Guillaumes
Since 2008 and its festival in St Laurent du Var, the JCE of the Pays Niçois has been organizing chalk drawing activities on the ground within its territory.
On Friday, August 12, 2011, the Craies d’Azur was organized in Guillaumes, in partnership with the Town Hall, on the church and washhouse squares, as part of the Notre Dame of the Assumption festive celebrations.
Throughout the day, children were able to freely express their creativity in the “chalk-stop” space.
A total of 108 drawings were created in joy and good spirits, and they will serve as decor for the remaining celebrations.
A local artist, Anouk Pittet, assisted by a few local children, also created a giant artwork on the theme of interracial fraternity between Africans and Europeans.
This artwork has been treated to last until the book festival organized in Guillaumes on August 20, 2011, which will have Africa as its theme.
The objectives of this action are multiple:
– Valuing the artists of the Pays Niçois: Artists have the opportunity to perfect their talents and multiply their chances of meeting potential partners: patrons, cultural attachés, and various enterprises that are sensitive to this art.
– The emergence and promotion of a new art form: People from all walks of life and ages share a common passion for the arts and participate in the development of this new mode of expression.
Our goal is to launch an artistic trend for chalk drawing on the ground to create a market and economic opportunities for local artists within 5 years.
– Visibility over a territory of 94 municipalities: Since its inception, the JCE of the Pays Niçois has been working within a territory encompassing approximately a hundred municipalities and is currently composed of around twenty active members from very diverse socio-professional backgrounds.
